Airbnb has initiated a programme that allows hosts to distribute “direct booking links,” which come with the perk of a reduced service fee when used. This new feature was announced in messages sent to hosts, which have since appeared in online communities such as Facebook groups and LinkedIn.
New Incentives for Hosts
Hosts received notifications this week titled “Share your link, get a lower fee,” indicating that by promoting bookings through these specific links, they could enjoy a lower host service charge. These direct booking links have been made available through the Listing editor on the Airbnb platform.
Booking Benefits
The messages clarify that when hosts share links via social media, email, or message boards, those bookings qualify for the reduced fee. Importantly, these booking transactions still occur on Airbnb, preserving the usual benefits, including the platform’s AirCover protection.
