An exhilarating orchestral concert featuring music from the acclaimed game Hades, titled Ballads of the Underworld, is now available for free online viewing. This performance was previously highlighted during Eurogamer’s Optimism Week as a standout example in a celebration of game-music concerts.
The event saw Supergiant Games bring music from the Hades series to life with the help of the London Mozart Players, under the baton of Hades co-composer Austin Wintory. The concert also featured live performances from vocal artists including Judy Alice Lee, who voices Melinoë, Erin Yvette as Scylla, and Colin Ryan as Apollo. Supergiant’s own composer Darren Korb and singer Ashley Barret contributed their vocal talents as well.
For fans of the concert, the video is organised into segments following a setlist detailed in the video description. Noteworthy moments include the opening number Moonlight Guide Us, with a particularly memorable performance of “I am Gonna Claw (Out Your Eyes Then Drown You to Death)” at 16:48, and Colin Ryan’s rendition of “Fated Glory” at 46:00. The grand finale featured Darren Korb’s impressive falsetto.
In related news, documentary maker Noclip has launched a series exploring the creation of Hades 2. Meanwhile, Supergiant Games is in the process of planning their next steps following the development of Hades 2, though no new projects have been officially announced yet.
