Lamborghini Revuelto SV: Pushing Boundaries in Performance and Emotion
Lamborghini has unveiled the latest iteration of its flagship Revuelto, the SV, which stands for Superveloce, or “super fast”, a designation reflecting the car’s enhanced capabilities. The SV version of the Revuelto boosts the performance of the already powerful model with several key upgrades.
Equipped with a hybrid-electric powertrain, the Revuelto SV combines a 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12 engine with three electric motors, delivering a total output of 1,065cv (approximately 1,050 hp). This increase of about 50 hp above the standard model is partially due to an updated battery system that maintains its original shape but increases capacity by 7.3kWh, enhancing both power and consistency during intense driving.
The 0–62mph acceleration capability of 2.4 seconds matches that of the limited-edition Fenomeno, making it one of the fastest in the Lamborghini lineup. The car’s performance is further amplified by a 30% reduction in transmission shifting time for quicker acceleration and improved driving dynamics.
To complement the enhanced speed capabilities, the Revuelto SV includes significant upgrades in other areas. An 80% increase in downforce is achieved courtesy of a redesigned front bumper and a dual-design rear wing, crucial for stability and high-speed cornering. Additionally, carbon fibre elements throughout the vehicle reduce its weight, resulting in a better power-to-weight ratio of 1.66 kg/CV compared to the standard model’s 1.75 kg/CV.
Braking performance is also upgraded, with a new CCM-R Plus system replacing the standard carbon-ceramic brakes. Larger, thicker discs with enhanced cooling capabilities ensure the car can withstand increased stress and allow for later, more forceful braking.
Driving Emotion Meets Technical Precision
For Revuelto product line director Alessandro Farmeschi, the driving experience goes beyond mere numbers. The tagline “quantum of driving” seeks to capture the union between driver and vehicle, transforming drives into immersive experiences. Farmeschi describes it as a state where the emotions of speed and performance command the focus, allowing drivers to explore and expand their capabilities.
A notable feature introduced with the Revuelto SV is the Pilota mode, inspired by Lamborghini’s GT racing heritage. This mode offers five settings to adjust the car’s sensitivity to its stability systems, and it is engaged via a helmet icon on the steering wheel. A six-dimensional sensor collects data on vehicle dynamics, allowing the vehicle to tailor its stability controls based on the driver’s preference, whether for precision or a more relaxed grip for diverse track conditions.
Lamborghini’s hybrid strategy continues to enhance driving dynamics through improved torque vectoring. The electric motors are instrumental in mitigating the additional weight of the battery, as well as facilitating an electric-only mode with a range of nearly 15 kilometres, useful in certain urban areas.
Pricing for the deluxe Revuelto SV remains undisclosed, yet with the starting price of the non-SV version at $612,000, estimates for the SV are upwards of $750,000. This makes it a coveted choice for those who value peak hybrid performance without the full transition to electric, in the wake of competitors’ developments such as the Ferrari Luce.
