United introduces premium fare tiers for short routes

United Airlines has announced plans to roll out a new structure for business class fares on its domestic and select short-haul international flights. This development follows the successful application of similar tiered pricing on United’s long-haul routes, with the expectation that it will appeal particularly to business travellers seeking greater flexibility, even for shorter journeys.

Introducing Tiered Pricing

The airline will divide its United First and United Business cabin fares into three distinct tiers. The first level, known as the Base tier, will offer the lowest available price for these premium seats. The Standard tier, which provides benefits such as complimentary seat selection and additional checked baggage, caters to passengers willing to pay a bit more for added convenience.
