Dakota Smith, the co-founder of Hopper, has announced his departure from the company, which is headquartered in Montreal. Smith revealed his exit through LinkedIn after heading Hopper Technology Solutions (HTS) for three years. This division played a crucial role as the business-to-business (B2B) engine of the company, responsible for significant partnerships with industry giants like Uber, Expedia, and RBC.
HTS has been integral to Hopper’s operations, contributing a remarkable 90% to the company’s earnings, Smith mentioned earlier in 2025. Recently, HTS also secured a partnership with Aven Hospitality.
Although Smith did not disclose the reasons behind his decision to leave, it is clear that his influence and credibility in the B2B arena have been pivotal for Hopper’s success in this sector, according to industry sources.
