Harry Styles residency boosts NYC businesses

Harry Styles is set to mesmerise New York City with a residency at Madison Square Garden, commencing on 26 August and running for 30 performances. While it may not mirror the massive global sweep of Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour, the series is anticipated to provide a more consistent economic boost to local hospitality businesses.

New York City Readies for Styles’ Residency Boost

In what has already been an exhilarating summer with events like the World Cup and a Knicks championship in New York City, Harry Styles’ impending performances at Madison Square Garden promise to continue attracting major attention and activity within the city. The “Together, Together” tour will follow Styles’ shows in prominent cities such as Amsterdam, London, São Paulo, and Mexico City.

New York has been enjoying a robust year in the hospitality sector, with high occupancy rates, elevated average daily room rates (ADR), and increased revenue per available room (RevPAR). Didio Pequeno, CoStar’s director of hospitality market analytics, predicts that the upcoming concerts will further enhance these positive trends.

Discussing the economic impact, Pequeno remarked, “New York’s had a very strong year anyway… So I think this could just potentially add to that.” Styles’ two-month residency sets itself apart by potentially offering a more sustained impact on hotel and short-term rental markets in the city compared to other transient events.
