Amadeus integrates travel tech with Claude

Amadeus is forging new collaborations to integrate its travel systems with Anthropic’s Claude, aiming to facilitate access for both developers and travel professionals. The company disclosed in a blog post on Thursday that it is working to offer flight and destination information through Claude Code for developers and is considering a Claude Cowork plugin to assist travel experts via chat interfaces.

Enhancing Travel Technology

The trend of incorporating AI assistants into various work processes is becoming prevalent, with AI interfaces increasingly being utilised for tasks such as software development and operational functions. Reacting to this shift, travel technology companies are making the underlying systems for shopping, booking, and service operations more accessible to these AI tools.

Comparison with Competitors

While Amadeus has focused on a selective sharing strategy, primarily with its partners, its competitor Sabre has been actively engaging with external developers, offering APIs and an agentic marketplace to foster broader interaction with its systems.
