Battlefield Studios has introduced Rapid Royale, a new feature for its Redsec battle royale mode in Battlefield 6, mirroring the popular Resurgence mode from Call of Duty’s Warzone. Rapid Royale features smaller maps and quicker gameplay dynamics, designed to promote intense and frequent engagements between players.
The new mode boasts a reduced player count and faster closing circles, intensifying battles and ensuring matches conclude much faster than the primary game mode. Rapid Royale is entirely played on smaller maps, differentiating itself from the expansive battlefields of the main Redsec experience.
New Features and Upcoming Releases in Battlefield 6
Rapid Royale is one of several enhancements introduced in conjunction with the forthcoming Season 5 of Battlefield 6 and Redsec. While a specific release date for Season 5 remains under wraps, its predecessor, Season 4, enters its final phase with Tidal Strike commencing on 15th September. This phase debuts proximity chat, a new feature that allows players to communicate with those nearby not in their squad, initially available in battle royale mode with plans for wider Battlefield 6 integration later.
Season 4 has been notable for Battlefield 6, introducing naval combat and the game’s most expansive map to date. Additionally, its second phase featured a collaboration with Top Gun, a reimagining of Wake Island, new two-seater jets, and the updated Carrier Assault mode, renamed Carrier Strike. Season 5 is projected for a ‘winter 2026’ release, anticipated to unveil three new maps and other yet-to-be-announced features.
