Biking joy as she bunny hops over a speed hump

Anna Malos experienced a pivotal moment on a bike ride that crystallised her feelings for Georgie, marking a profound turning point in their relationship. Their journey began in 2004 when they met at a kick-boxing club in London. Initially drawn together by their mutual love of travel and horses, the connection deepened rapidly following an unexpectedly significant third date.

On their third date, Anna had to manage a burglary at her home, and Georgie chose to accompany her throughout the ordeal, highlighting a developing bond even before they labelled their relationship. This incident laid a foundation of shared intimacy that quickly grew between them.

A Spark of Joy on Two Wheels

The moment that truly defined Anna’s appreciation of Georgie’s essence occurred during a springtime bike ride through a local park. Spotting Georgie unexpectedly execute a bunny hop over a speed bump brought Anna delight, capturing Georgie’s exuberant spirit. That spontaneous act exemplified Georgie’s zest for life, an attribute that deeply endeared her to Anna.

Over the next several years, Anna and Georgie lived together in London before relocating to Melbourne. However, the move presented professional challenges for Georgie, which led her back to the UK. Regrettably, this period saw their relationship transition into a long-distance one.

Facing Challenges Together

In 2009, Georgie faced a daunting battle with breast cancer at age 32, prompting Anna to immediately return to the UK to support her. Georgie’s initial recovery allowed the pair to relocate again to Australia and engage in varied adventures across the country. Tragically, cancer returned more aggressively, metastasising over time.

By late 2019, with a grave prognosis, the couple returned to the UK, benefitting from the cloistered intimacy imposed by pandemic lockdowns. Unexpectedly, Georgie’s health further declined due to a brain haemorrhage, ultimately leading to her passing in July 2020. Her death followed two days of intense family presence in the ICU.

Anna reflects on their time together with profound gratitude, recognising that Georgie’s energy and love for life left a lasting impact. Even near the end, Georgie’s drive to remain active was emblematic of her character, a characteristic that Anna cherishes and will always remember.
