Epic Games has officially announced that the Five Nights at Freddy’s universe will be integrated into Fortnite for this year’s Fortnitemares event.
Freddy’s Pizzeria Takes the Spotlight
Fans of Fortnite and Five Nights at Freddy’s can look forward to the in-game inclusion of Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria, which will serve as a new map location. Gamers will have the opportunity to face off against the iconic characters Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy, who will appear as bosses in the game.
Event Kicks Off in October
Epic excitedly announced, “It’s almost showtime! The Fazbear Band has taken over Battle Royale. Face the animatronic animal bosses and survive the night… if you can. Fortnitemares begins 1st October!” This crossover event has been highly anticipated, especially after hints such as security cameras and Five Nights at Freddy’s-related dialogue were featured in recent events.
Prelude to the Announcement
The inclusion of Five Nights at Freddy’s has been speculated for months, particularly since the pizzeria was spotted on the island during Fortnite’s Override season. Fans had been eagerly awaiting an official confirmation, which has now arrived just in time for the seasonal Fortnitemares 2026, starting 1st October.
Epic Settles Legal Dispute
Earlier this year, Epic Games concluded a legal dispute with former contractor Hayden Cohen. The court settlement involved an agreement preventing Cohen from sharing or using any of Epic’s confidential information. The settlement also prohibits Cohen from disclosing such information to third parties.
