Free back-to-school haircuts from local barber

As families grapple with rising living expenses, a Guildford barber is stepping up to ease the burden by offering complimentary back-to-school haircuts and school supplies. Sid Gumbrell, the proprietor of Clean Cuts Barber Shop in Surrey, has organised this charitable event which is scheduled to run from 09:00 BST to 17:00 on Sunday.

The initiative not only includes haircuts but also provides children with free stationery, pencil cases, and water bottles. Mr. Gumbrell expressed his understanding of the current financial pressures, stating, “I know the struggles with the cost of things at the moment. School uniforms, shoes, haircuts, etc, it all adds up and if we can just help take one cost away it’s a massive deal for us.”

The event’s purpose is to support families by alleviating some of their financial burdens while fostering community spirit among children. The day’s activities receive backing from Tesco and Krispy Kreme, both of which have contributed to the cause.
