JetBlue introduces new first class seats to improve fortunes

JetBlue is set to enhance its domestic first class offering with the introduction of its new BlueFirst seats, which were revealed on Tuesday. Aimed at boosting profitability after enduring losses over the past six years, these seats are designed to offer a premium experience for travellers.

Premier Seating and Features

The BlueFirst seats, crafted using foam associated with mattresses, provide increased comfort with seven additional inches of legroom and up to five inches of recline. The arrangement follows a 2×2 seating configuration. On JetBlue’s aircraft, the A220s and A320s will each be equipped with 12 BlueFirst seats, while the larger A321s will include 16 seats. Each seat boasts a 13.3-inch screen for entertainment, along with personal power outlets and exclusive overhead storage space. Customers can expect these aircraft to become available for bookings this autumn, with the first launch anticipated later in the year.

Passenger Perks

BlueFirst passengers will enjoy various benefits, including the provision of blankets and amenity kits, as well as an option to order food and drinks via their seatback screens. To enhance the travel experience further, these travellers will have priority boarding and check-in privileges, along with access to expedited security lanes at over 30 airports.
