JetBlue investment fails as Icahn’s stake declines, board quits

Carl Icahn is set to reduce his influence on JetBlue Airways as two of his appointed board members step down following a reduction in his ownership stake. JetBlue announced on Thursday that Jesse Lynn, the general counsel of Icahn Enterprises, and Steve Miller, a portfolio manager at Icahn Capital, have resigned from their positions on the airline’s board with immediate effect.

Carl Icahn expressed his gratitude for the positive collaboration between his team and JetBlue over the years. He hopes the airline will continue its successful execution of the JetForward strategy, according to a statement he provided. Despite these resignations, JetBlue’s leadership remains committed to advancing its strategic initiatives moving forward, as noted by JetBlue CEO Joanna Geraghty in a separate statement on Thursday.
