Amidst speculation surrounding the release of “The Duskbloods,” Nintendo has clarified that a specific release date is not yet set. This follows the appearance of an inaccurate release date, 24th September, in early coverage of the game.
The date made its way into a preview published by The Guardian, which was written following a media event in Tokyo where journalists were given a chance to experience the game ahead of an upcoming network test this weekend. Interestingly, other outlets that participated in the event did not include this date in their reports, instead mentioning a more general timeframe of later this year for the game’s launch.
Official Statement and Public Response
Eurogamer sought clarification from Nintendo, who responded through a spokesperson stating, “The release date is inaccurate because there is no information regarding [the] release date of the Duskbloods.”
This clarification came just a day before the scheduled closed network test, which interested individuals had the opportunity to register for after a Nintendo Direct trailer was showcased last month. Adding to the buzz, leaked gameplay footage surfaced online earlier today, briefly appearing on the social media platform Bilibili before being removed.
