Kristy Schmidt, senior communications manager for Amazon’s Devices & Services division, commented on the increase, explaining that the consumer electronics sector is enduring substantial cost rises for memory and storage components. Schmidt stated, “After absorbing these increases for as long as we could, we recently adjusted pricing across our product lines,” reaffirming Amazon’s commitment to providing “great products at accessible prices.”

Amazon’s Echo Dot Max, a key product that debuted last year, now costs $119.99, up from $99.99. In a similar move, Apple raised the price of its HomePod Mini to $129 this summer in response to similar cost pressures, though Google’s Home Speaker still retails at $99.99.

Interestingly, some Amazon products such as Ring cameras, video doorbells, and the Echo Studio smart speaker, priced at $219.99, have so far escaped the price hikes.
