The eagerly awaited game “Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy” is facing a premature exposure challenge as its PC version has been illegally accessed and distributed online a full week before its official release. This breach has raised concerns about potential spoilers circulating across the internet, prompting fans to exercise caution with online content related to the game.
The initial rumblings about this pirated version emerged on the Plague Tale subreddit. In response, subreddit moderators are taking stringent measures to control the dissemination of any leaked content, including images and videos. They have firmly stated that any further posts concerning the leaks or requests for information will result in permanent bans. To further deter leaks, they have warned of a possible week-long lockdown of the subreddit if violations persist. Efforts to reach Asobo, the game’s developer, for their comments on the situation are ongoing.
A New Chapter for Plague Tale
Set to launch on 27th August, “Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy” marks a significant shift in the series, featuring a new protagonist, Sophia, instead of the familiar characters Amicia and Hugo. Sophia, introduced in “A Plague Tale: Requiem,” navigates events occurring 15 years prior to the original game, exploring her connection to the mysterious Macula plague along with the story of Theseus and the Minotaur, running parallel to hers.
This installment departs from the stealth mechanics that defined its predecessors, opting for more direct combat. Players will guide Sophia as she battles enemies using an array of blades and strategic manoeuvres, alongside leveraging distance attacks. My earlier experience with the game revealed that the combat system is engaging and well-executed, complemented by challenging light puzzles and the series’ signature cinematic presentation.
